Life can be such a blessing. By pure coincidence, I was able to get media pass credentials to this show. Lolita Frazier is this amazing compassionate woman who took violence, sadness and a life experience that could have broken her down and turned it into an uplifting and beautiful thing.
I take solace in quiet moments, the sun rises, the sun sets and the cycle continues through the storms and calm seas.
The chaos of the salty waves and dancing winds surround me and heal my pirate soul… for I am the storm.
Perspective – once you change it, you can never go back!
It’s always fun to change your perspective when taking photography and, for that matter, in any situation you may be experiencing. This simple difference, looking at it from a strange new angle, can impact the visual hierarchy of your mind!
South Carolina snow is beautiful when you can find locations tucked outin the middle of nowhere.
The lighting created an almost plain photo save for the colourful highlights of this abandoned structure.
Please let me know if you would like a print of this photograph.
Where Creativity comes together at the Weyr!
This is where the world of the Wyrd, the Dragons, the Artist Studio and the imagination and Fun Begins!
For those of you science fiction buffs out there you will recognize the term Weyr from Anne McCaffrey’s books about the fictional world of Pern.
For our purposes a Weyr is many things – it’s been a home away from home as a studio. A Weyr /ˈwɪər/ is a collection of dragons, their riders and support staff per the definition of the book. It is also a thought created in our creators mind referring to the network of caves with entrances built into cliffs, typically in volcanic areas or near the waters edge in wallows. These were built out to add more structures so the whole community could gather and work together.
Our studio is termed Weyr to honour the idea of working together as a community to deliver something creative, innovative and fun!
Today was a fun and interesting day. Was taking photos of a product when low and behold the mirror opened up a strange new world… Took the time to get some of those Orbeez (water beads) used for kids and/or floral designs. They retain water like crazy but have become wacky and weird wonderful imagery when placed in a mirror!
It’s a reflection of a reflection which makes the image within the reflected bead – upright to the eye!
